A family creed for a family that loves to cook
In some families every celebration, apology and crisis comes with food. This creed is for them. Hospitality and generosity lead, tradition guards the recipes, and the playful tone admits that nobody leaves the house hungry, ever. The bee is the heraldic sign of hard work and community, which fits a kitchen in full swing, and gold stands for generosity. Printed on a tea towel or hung by the stove, it doubles as a reminder of who licks the spoon.
The creed
Hear ye, hear ye! Our family creed:
Nobody leaves our house hungry. Nobody.
We share. Yes, even the good blanket.
We have traditions about our traditions.
We celebrate half-birthdays.
We do everything together, including fighting over the bathroom.
We bake on rainy days and fight over who licks the spoon.
When things get hard, we show up with soup and a blanket.
In a hundred years, people will say we were generous. And loud.
That's our way. No refunds.

Values in this creed
Talk about it together
- Who has made you feel most welcome in their home? What did they do?
- Who could we invite over that does not get invited often?
- Who has been generous to our family, and how can we pass it on?
- What do we have plenty of that we could share more?
