Make a 3D logo intro or outro for YouTube videos

Published 2026-11-01

A logo sting at the start of a video says "this is us" in a couple of seconds. Done badly, it's the part everyone skips. Here's how to make one that helps.

Keep it short

Three to five seconds. Viewers decide in the first few seconds whether to keep watching, so many creators open with a hook and drop the logo in a few seconds later, or keep it for the end.

Make the loop

  1. Open the logo animation page and add your logo.
  2. Choose 16:9 and a 3 or 5 second length.
  3. Pick a material that suits your channel: chrome or neon for tech and gaming, gold or marble for premium, your colours for friendly brands.
  4. Choose Spin for energy or Sway for something calmer.
  5. Make the video and download the MP4.

In your editor

  • Put the loop on the timeline where you want it and trim it. Because it loops seamlessly, you can repeat it back to back for a longer hold.
  • Add a short sound: a whoosh or a two-note sting from your editor's library, or from a royalty-free library you have a licence for.
  • Fade in from black and cut straight into your content. Long fades feel slow.

As an outro

Use the loop behind your end screen: YouTube's end-screen elements sit over the last 5 to 20 seconds of the video. An 8-second calm Float loop, repeated, makes a tidy branded background.

Can I upload the loop to YouTube on its own?

You can, as a short or a channel trailer element, but it works best inside your videos as an intro, outro or transition.
