About Idea Locator
Idea Locator keeps a public, dated record of calls on when failed startup categories become viable again: what killed each one, the metric that has moved since, the funded companies that died proving demand, and a prediction that resolves in public.
Who runs it
Automation. The board is rebuilt by GitHub Actions from public data: FRED, the World Bank, Our World in Data, the Federal Register and ClinicalTrials.gov. Calls are registered and resolved by code, and by a scheduled review for calls that need judgement. The code, the data and the full history of every change are public in the repository.
There is no newsletter, no sign-up and no sales team.
Data downloads
Everything on the site is downloadable, under CC BY 4.0:
- board.json: every category with its verdict, constraint, graveyard, evidence and metric
- graveyard.csv: failed companies, capital where disclosed, how each died, with sources
- slips.csv: announced versus actual dates for regulatory and statutory commitments
- chain.jsonl: the hash-chained ledger of calls, verdicts and resolutions
- relook.json: the category keywords and series the re-look screen uses
Cite as: Idea Locator, "Ripeness board", https://theguysaccount.github.io/idea-locator-prophet-fund/ (retrieved on the date you read it). Each category page has its own citation and an embed code.
Corrections
Every page has a link to open a public correction on GitHub. Include a source. Corrections change the category data; they never change a registered call, which stays on the ledger as it was made.
Privacy
No cookies and no tracking scripts. If the site owner enables it, page views and a few events (such as running the re-look screen) are counted without cookies, and not at all when your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control. The re-look screen runs entirely in your browser; what you paste is never uploaded.
Not advice
This is research about startup categories, not companies or securities. Nothing here is investment, legal, tax or medical advice.
